RITBA Converts Two More Pell Bridge Lanes To ORT
The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority announced this morning the opening of two additional open-road tolling lanes at the Newport Pell Bridge toll plaza. The redesignated lanes are the existing outer right lanes in each direction of travel. RITBA described the lane change as the latest in a series of actions designed to maintain efficient operations and employee and customer safety during the COVID-19 epidemic.

WKYC reports on safety measures the Ohio Turnpike implemented in order to permit the resumption of cash collection by its employees. Ferzan Ahmed, the turnpike commission’s chief executive, tells WKYC, “”Ohioans need to be proud of the frontline workers at the Ohio Turnpike. They have stepped up. They have taken all the advice from the CDC and ODH, and implemented those measures to keep ourselves safe and to keep our customers safe.”
