The Transportation Research Board has scheduled a webinar for Monday afternoon, November 25, on pavement design methods that ensure durability and resilience against “[n]ew truck abilities and the associated loads,” developments that will impact flexible and rigid pavements. “This webinar is the first of a two-part series that will explore potential advancements in truck technology such as electric trucks, truck platooning, CAVs, and their impacts on pavement performance, design methods, and maintenance. The second webinar, Anticipated Truck Loadings in Pavement Design—Part II, will be held in December 2024.” Scheduled presenters include representatives of FHWA, the American Transportation Research Institute, and the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Registration is online.
