Taiwan Modifies Toll Rates And HOV Requirements For Lunar New Year Holiday

The Republic of China’s Central News Agency (via Focus Taiwan) reports, all Taiwan national highways “will be toll-free from midnight to 5 a.m. during the 10-day Lunar New Year holiday,” which extends from tomorrow through January 29. “A unified rate of NT$0.9 (US$0.03) per kilometer will apply at all other times during the holiday period. . . .” The country’s Freeway Bureau will also limit traffic on certain highways to vehicles with three or more occupants during specified hours of the day over the holiday period.
