Austin American-Statesman covers a CTRMA staff report on the initial week of north MoPac express lane operations. Tim Reilly, the authority’s director of operations, told CTRMA directors, “I really don’t think it could have gone better.” Reilly added that the lighter traffic observed in segments of the expressway’s general purpose lanes resulted from a diversion of “up to 800 vehicles an hour into the added toll lane (at tolls that have remained at 53 cents or less). . . .” Staff also reported that the express lane segments still under construction should be open by the spring of 2017.
