Osceola News-Gazette has more on the agreement that the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) will “take the lead” in the planning and design of new toll roads for the Osceola County Expressway Authority (OCX). The newspaper reports that “OCX Chairman Atlee Mercer — who will see his board eventually be absorbed into CFX if everything goes as planned — said it’s a goodwill arrangement that is ‘a win for everyone. It’s an agreement written to make sure it serves the future transportation needs of us and the entire county. The goal is to have all of these roads part of CFX. It’s in their best interests to do so, because they want to have positive cash flow and our roads will help get them there.’”
