The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) has issued a request for proposal (RFP) for a Regional Back Office System (BOS) — RFP #5006101. SANDAG anticipates awarding one Contract under this RFP.
SANDAG operates two toll facilities in the San Diego region: The I-15 Express Lanes (EL), a twenty mile priced managed lane facility which began operation in 2009 and South Bay Expressway/SR-125, a 10 mile conventional toll facility, which was acquired by SANDAG in 2011. While management of these two facilities is shared, they currently operate as separate toll systems.
Proposals are being sought from qualified firms with the expertise, experience, capacity and resources to design, develop, implement, and maintain a Regional BOS (Project). The Project will serve SANDAG’s I-15 EL and South Bay Expressway/SR-125 toll facilities and will consolidate two existing customer service and violation processing systems into a single, new Regional BOS. The new Regional BOS will incorporate recent innovations and progress in design and operations of tolling back offices and will have the capacity to accommodate increases in traffic on the existing roadways as well as planned future tolling facilities. The Regional back-office will be operated by SANDAG staff.
