Washington State DOT Will Introduce Its New Website Sunday
Washington State DOT announced it will launch “a new, refreshed website that makes finding information easier than ever” on Sunday, November 7. A redesign project was initiated three years ago because “[i]t’s been more than 15 years since our website has had a major update. That’s a long time in today’s world. How people get information has changed significantly, and we needed to meet those needs.” Improving travel information resources and the site’s mobile footprint were two major aims of the redesign, but WSDOT staff also found ways to upgrade the presentation of information about projects and project planning, and doing business with the department. The new site’s “About” section will be a repository for information about “job listings, all kinds of data like traffic and crash statistics, research reports and contact information.”
KIRO Radio reports on the site redesign. It gave WSDOT high marks for a Good To Go! toll system website upgrade that premiered this past summer.
