Pierre Anjolras Named VINCI Group COO, The First Step In An Executive Succession Plan

VINCI Group announced this week that its board unanimously approved chairman and CEO Xavier Huillard’s appointment of Pierre Anjolras as the group’s chief operating officer. M. Anjolras will report to the CEO and have responsibility for overseeing the entire group’s operational activities in its various business lines. His appointment is the first step in the implementation of a CEO succession plan. M. Huillard’s term as chief executive will end in 2025 at the conclusion of the group’s general meeting to approve the 2024 financial statements. His current term as board chair and director does not expire until the 2026 annual general meeting.

Pierre Anjolras, a civil engineer and École Polytechnique graduate, joined the VINCI Group in 1999. He gained extensive experience managing toll concessions while serving as COO of Cofiroute in 2004 before being named CEO of ASF in 2007. Since 2010, he has held executive positions in the group’s construction business line. In 2021, Anjolras became chair of VINCI Construction and managed its merger with Eurovia.

The Wall Street Journal reported on the appointment and the succession plan.

Boston’s Sumner Tunnel To Close For One Month This Summer

CBS News Boston reports, Massachusetts DOT announced yesterday that the Sumner Tunnel will close to traffic from July 5 until August 5, with additional weekend closures to follow. The closures are necessary for Phase 2 of the crucial artery’s restoration. Last year, a full closure lasted two months straight. The project is expected to extend the century-old tunnel’s lifespan by 50 years. To help mitigate the impact on traffic and commuters, tolls at the Tobin Bridge and Ted Williams Tunnel will be discounted for drivers registered with a resident discount program, and certain transit routes also will be discounted.
