Kapsch And Digital Payments Processor PayNearMe Collaborate On Expanding Toll Payment Options

PayNearMe, the California-based fintech company specializing in digital payment processing, yesterday announced it has formed a partnership with Kapsch TrafficCom. The initiative will enable drivers who use Kapsch electronic toll collection systems to pay tolls, replenish accounts and resolve violations “using a wide range of payment options.” PayNearMe’s platform supports payments via Cash App Pay, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, cards and ACH (the depository institutions electronic debit and credit transfers system). It also allows drivers to pay tolls in cash at more than 62,000 retail locations. Scott Sorensen, a Kapsch North America vice president, commented, “While cards and digital wallets are increasingly popular, cash remains an essential payment option for millions of drivers” and PayNearMe technology “makes it easy for drivers without a transponder to make a payment — all without the hassle of creating or logging in to an account.”

The Indiana Toll Road Concession Company (ITRCC) announced a 2024 Spring Pavement Rehabilitation Mill and Fill Project, which gets underway tomorrow, May 8, on western (mile markers 10 to 20) and eastern (mile markers 123 to 157) segments of the highway. The project “will deliver improved pavement conditions within the regions that were most impacted by the severe winter freeze/thaw cycle in early 2024.” Where possible, work will be limited to non-peak travel times (8:00 PM to 8:00 AM), and ITRCC expects the project to be “largely completed” before the Memorial Day holiday. The company has other pavement and bridge rehabilitation projects under design within the work area that are projected to be completed in late 2024 and 2025.
