According to WTEN, the New York Thruway Authority reports that motorists are “receiving phishing messages from scammers impersonating Tolls by Mail NY. Messages claim the recipient has an outstanding balance and will direct them to click on a link from nytollservices.com,” a website that is not affiliated with any New York toll agency or the E-ZPass New York Service Center. Louisville Multivehicle Collision Leaves Semi-Truck Dangling Off Bridge

The Courier-Journal reports on the rescue of a commercial truck driver whose vehicle was left dangling off the Clark Memorial Bridge in Louisville, Kentucky, after a Friday afternoon four-vehicle crash. A city firefighter had to be lowered in a harness suspended from a ladder truck to reach the truck’s cab. After he got a secure hold on the driver, both were reeled back up to the roadway. Although an investigation of the crash is still underway, initial reports indicate a southbound auto struck a stalled vehicle headed in the same direction and lost control, crossing into a northbound lane and colliding with the truck. The truck burst through the guardrails, leaving the cab and part of the trailer hanging off the roadway. There were several injuries, none life-threatening.

WDRB reports that the bridge was closed for about 30 hours following the crash so the truck could be removed and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet crews could inspect the damage to the span. Three of bridge’s four lanes reopened Saturday evening after engineers determined it was safe for vehicular traffic.

The Clark (or Second Street) Bridge is one of the non-tolled Ohio River crossings available to motorists who want to avoid the three RiverLink toll system bridges.
