NTTA Urges More Customers To Get A Transponder
WFAA reports, the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) is making a pitch for more customers to open a TollTag account following its announcement that the premium for paying tolls by mail will soon double. When the authority’s next biennial rate adjustment takes effect on July 1, TollTag holders will face a modest increase (just one cent more per mile). However, “ZipCash” customers will start paying twice the TollTag rate, instead of an additional 50 percent.

The Apopka Voice carries a Florida DOT news release announcing that seven agency projects were selected for Outstanding Project Awards at an American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC-FL) conference last week. FDOT Secretary Jared Perdue commented, “This diverse selection of projects recognized by the ACEC-FL showcases the multitude of ways FDOT is meeting the needs of the communities we serve. The Department is honored to receive these recognitions. . . . The project teams selected are more than deserving of these accolades. . . .” The “Outstanding Major Project” award was given to FDOT District 5, WGI, Inc., and RS&H, for their work on Wekiva Parkway Section 6. Other awards and recipients are listed in the announcement.

WTVG reports, Ohio state police seeking the public’s help in identifying the alleged perpetrator of a turnpike shooting have released toll plaza images of a suspect vehicle and driver. The incident, ascribed to road-rage, occurred in the early evening of May 9 near an Erie County interchange. The victim was not injured.
