MTA Schedules Congestion Pricing Webinars
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced six upcoming webinars to inform the public about the Manhattan congestion pricing plan scheduled to take effect June 30. The hourlong webinars will include a 30-minute presentation followed by a question-and-answer session. Registration is required, and questions can be submitted in advance through the registration portal. Language assistance will be provided through translated videos, to be made available in June. The events are scheduled for:
- Wednesday, June 5, at 11:00 AM
- Thursday, June 6, at 12:00 noon
- Monday, June 10, at 6:00 PM
- Friday, June 14, at 10:00 AM
- Tuesday June 18, at 12:00 noon
- Tuesday June 18, at 7:00 PM
USDOT Schedules Information And Networking Event For Small and Disadvantaged IT Businesses
USDOT’s Office of the Chief Information Officer and Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization announced that they will host the 2024 USDOT IT Industry Day on June 18, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. “The purpose of the [online] event is to educate small and disadvantaged businesses on future IT business opportunities and to engage with decision makers. USDOT subject matter experts will be providing an overview of USDOT IT programs, upcoming contract opportunities, and existing mandatory use vehicles. Small business attendees will also have the opportunity to network and meet with USDOT representatives during the USDOT Connections MarketPlace platform.” Registration is open online.
Connections MarketPlace is the transportation department’s online platform for providing small and minority businesses with a variety of technical assistance and capacity building services and activities.

AASHTO Journal reports, a paperback version of the latest (11th) edition of FHWA’s Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways (MUTCD) is now available from the association of state highway officials. “The manual is a compilation of national standards for all traffic control devices, including road markings, highway signs, and traffic signals.” The paperback volume contains all the information in FHWA’s downloadable PDF version of the manual, plus an index of key reference topics, exact color-matched graphics and a durable binding.
