THEA Announces Annual Adjustment Of Selmon Expressway Toll Rates
WFLA reports, “Tolls on the Selmon Expressway will increase starting on July 1, according to the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority [THEA]. SunPass users on the East Mainline section of the expressway will pay $2.08, up 5 cents from the previous rate of $2.03 for 2-axle vehicles. Toll-by-Plate users on that same section will pay $2.44, up from $2.39.” In a statement, a spokesperson noted that THEA “toll indexing policies automatically increase tolls at a minimum of 2.5% annually or CPI (consumer price index) to adjust to inflation. [This year’s] increase for 2-axle vehicles with a SunPass is $0.05. In the recent years of growing inflation and increased costs of operating and construction, THEA has chosen to continue to apply the minimum required growth.” A 2024 rate chart is included in the WFLA article. THEA’s 2023 rates are posted online.
