All San Miguel Tollways Will Convert to AET Beginning In October
Manila Bulletin reports, San Miguel Corporation CEO Ramon Ang announced that all of his company’s toll roads will go cashless, a move inspired by a Philippine government policy to prevent the spread of COVID-19. According to the newspaper, “The first phase of [the] SMC Tollways plan covers the elevated section of the Skyway, NAIAX and SLEX and will take effect starting October 15 this year. The second phase will cover the at-grade sections of the three tollways and include STAR Tollways in southern Luzon and TPLEX in northern Luzon starting January 2021.” The article adds that SMC will not charge motorists a fee for RFID stickers.

The Maryland Transportation Authority announced it will reopen the E-ZPass Customer Service Centers at its toll facility buildings on Monday, June 15. The centers were shuttered in March because of the COVID-19 epidemic. MDTA added that service centers located at Motor Vehicle Administration branches will remain closed until further notice.
