Indiana Toll Road Maintenance Worker Killed In Roadside Accident
Associated Press reports, Ronald Smith, 61, an Indiana Toll Road Concession Company maintenance worker, was killed on the job Thursday afternoon when he was struck by a car. According to police, Smith pulled his pickup onto a shoulder of the highway near Mishawaka, turned on the truck’s emergency lights and began cleaning up some debris. A passing SUV sideswiped the truck, hit Smith, drove off the road and overturned. The driver and his single passenger received minor injuries.
