THEA Marks Sixtieth Anniversary By Launching Community Enhancement Campaign
The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) yesterday announced the launch of the “60 for 60” campaign to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of its July 1963 creation by the Florida legislature. The campaign is designed around a year-long “schedule of community activations and investments” focused on “five pillars of giving,” namely inspiring the next generation with STEM; connecting communities that are healthy; environmental sustainability; improving mobility and activating spaces; and “being a good community partner.” THEA drew inspiration for the campaign from the fact that it has introduced community beautification, economic development and education elements into its mobility and safety projects over the years. THEA chief executive Greg Slater said, “When we thought about how to mark this important milestone, we wanted to draw back to what was really important to our core values as a local provider of transportation solutions. We care about being good neighbors, and with our ’60 for 60′ campaign, we can be involved through time and financial investments throughout the year in a way that contributes to the well-being of our neighborhoods.”
