Oklahoma Turnpike Moves To Dismiss Lawsuits Over Proposed Extension Projects

The Norman Transcript reports, the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) has filed motions to dismiss two lawsuits related to the proposed construction of toll road extensions around Norman. The motions address jurisdictional rather than substantive issues, leading a plaintiff’s attorney to claim that the motions are “a stall tactic.” An OTA spokesperson responded that the authority stands behind the merits of the motions, specifically its claim that a suit challenging its authority to conduct the projects properly belongs in the state supreme court rather than a county court.
