Kansas Turnpike Authority Announces Job Fair

The Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA) announced it is hosting a job fair on Wednesday afternoon (August 18) at service plazas in Lawrence and Topeka. “Applications will be accepted from tobacco-free individuals. Hiring managers will be conducting interviews and answering questions about working at KTA.” KTA said it has openings for toll collection and maintenance workers. Potential applicants can sign up for a bi-weekly employment opportunities email alert.

NY Thruway Bus Crash Sends 57 People To The Hospital

Syracuse.com, The Citizen and Associated Press report, a tour bus driver and all 56 of his passengers were injured in a New York State Thruway (I-90) rollover crash on Saturday afternoon. The cause of the single-vehicle incident, which occurred near the town of Brutus about a mile west of exit 40 (Weedsport), is under investigation. Thruway travelers encountered partial closures and major slowdowns near the crash site throughout Saturday afternoon as officials cleared the scene.
