AASHTO Emphasizes The Need For Legislative Action Prior To FAST Act Expiration

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) issued a statement applauding Senate passage of the  bipartisan infrastructure measure and its “five years of funding stability for highway, transit, and passenger rail programs, with a large share of the Highway Trust Fund support provided directly to the state departments of transportation that keep our communities moving safely and efficiently.” AASHTO pledged to work with federal lawmakers  to get the measure to final enactment “before the FAST Act expires at the end of September, ensuring state DOTs have the funding and federal partnership they need to advance our quality of life and economic prosperity.”

Maybe they shouldn’t.)
