Detroit-Windsor Tunnel Set to Reopen Monday after 10-Day Closure for Ceiling Replacement

The Detroit News reports, “Renovations on the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel are on track for it to reopen at 5:30 a.m. Monday. . . .” Detroit & Canada Tunnel Corporation president Neal Belitsky told reporters who were invited to inspect the $21.6 million project, “Everything is going as planned. . . . So far the work is on schedule.”

Windsor Star provides an inside look at the complex project to demolish and replace “a five-inch-thick, 48,000-square-foot concrete ceiling.”
