HNTB's Susan Martinovich Discusses Topics Of Concern For DOTs
Last month, “Roads & Bridges Magazine” published a brief Q&A with Susan Martinovich, PE, HNTB’s Department of Transportation National Practice Lead, to solicit her views on topics of industry-wide importance from a perspective gained through long experience as a Nevada DOT director and chief engineer, as well as her 2011 term as American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) president. Among other things, she discusses highway safety and efforts needed to bring more women into transportation infrastructure careers.

Indiana DOT (INDOT) is accepting applications through December 31 for its Engineering Scholarship Program. Each year, the department offers a limited number of scholarships to qualified full-time students enrolled or accepted into an ABET-accredited college-level engineering school in Indiana. Recipients receive $3,125 per semester, work in paid summer internships and obtain hiring priority after earning an undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering. They owe INDOT one year of service for each year of academic assistance they receive. Applications are accepted online.
