Kansas Turnpike's Glen Scott Named State's Government Engineer of the Year
Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA) Engineering Program Manager Glen Scott was named the Government Engineer of the Year by the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE-KS).according to a news release from KTA. “Scott was eligible for the award after being selected as the Government Engineer of the Year at the regional level. . . . A 28-year veteran of the profession, this award recognizes his outstanding contributions to engineering and the community.” Scott has been with KTA since 2015, and before that worked for Kansas DOT and a private firm. He has received several other industry awards for KTA projects he led.

A toll relief scheme in New South Wales will expire on Friday, but Service NSW says 100,000 eligible drivers still have not claimed their discounts, 9News reports. Drivers who paid $877 (US$579) or more in tolls the previous financial year can claim a half-priced vehicle registration for one year. Drivers who paid $1,462 (US$965) or more can get free vehicle registration. The arrangement is being phased out in favor of a cash-back program.
