Maryland Schedules Public Events On Chesapeake Bay Crossing Study
The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) announced the scheduling of three open house sessions (two in-person, one virtual) during September for the Chesapeake Bay Crossing Study: Tier 2 NEPA Study that was launched in June. Attendees will be able to learn about the current study and review the results of the Tier 1 study completed in April. Although there will be no formal presentation, study team members will be available to answer questions.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that it has started the planning and design of the Pennsylvania Safety, Transportation and Research Track (PennSTART) in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and a regional industrial development corporation. The proposed facility, to be located at a rehabilitated manufacturing facility outside Pittsburgh, would support automated vehicle testing and development, as well as training and research in fields such as traffic incident management, tolling and intelligent transportation systems technology, smart truck parking and roadway work zone operations.
