MTA Announces A Gradual Return To In-Person Board Meetings

New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced that board members and the press may attend its next board meeting (on Wednesday, June 23) in person or continue to participate electronically. Public involvement will, for now, continue through livestream viewing and comment prerecording. “After more than a year of Zoom proceedings, we are eager to resume as much public participation as possible for our monthly Board meetings,” said MTA Chairman and CEO Patrick Foye. “We know meeting in-person is important for transparency, and we’re happy to begin to welcome back Commissioners and the media for a hybrid virtual gathering now that health and safety guidelines [for the COVID-19 pandemic] permit us to do so.”
