DRJTBC Issues Scudder Falls Bridge Severe Traffic Advisory

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) is advising eastbound drivers to avoid using the Scudder Falls (I-295) Toll Bridge on Wednesday morning, the time when crews will be preparing to start concrete deck pours on the bridge’s new, adjacent span (weather permitting). Officials say the work will force all New Jersey-bound traffic into one lane between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM, and “[t]raffic queuing of two miles or more with corresponding travel delays of an hour or more” can be expected.

Northern VA Express Lane Revenue Will Fund Commuting Improvements

The Free Lance-Star reports on Fredericksburg, Virginia, “commuter-focused projects and services” that will be funded with toll revenue. “The local projects range from a new commuter parking lot in Spotsylvania County to new and expanded bus service. The projects were scored and selected by members of the Commuter Choice program, which gets funding from express lane tolls on Interstates 95, 395 and 66. A working group of officials from the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission and the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission endorsed the recommended projects.” (Link inserted by TRN)
