Dulles Greenway Completes $20 Million In Lane Improvements

WTOP reports, “After $20 million and almost two years, a pair of rush hour relief projects on Northern Virginia’s Dulles Greenway are finished. . . . ‘The completed improvement project at the east end of the facility includes the addition of a lane that extends from the Greenway’s mainline plaza along the Dulles Toll Road to Centreville Road,” according to a news release from the Dulles Greenway. . . .’ The second project is part of an effort to relieve afternoon traffic in the Leesburg area.” The article adds that the Greenway’s operator has scheduled an additional $3 million Leesburg Bypass lane extension project.

Los Angeles City Council Explores Ways To Increase Telecommuting

CBS News Los Angeles reports, “Los Angeles City Council voted on August 26] to seek ways to incentivize businesses to provide more ways for employees to work remotely to help decrease traffic and carbon emissions. The unanimously approved motion . . . would have city staff report back to the council on methods to encourage businesses to adopt the policies in hopes of allowing more people to work from home, reducing commuter traffic, carbon emissions and smog.”
