CT Governor Lamont Will Take His Case for CT2030 to the Public
Hartford Courant reports, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont said yesterday he plans to hold town hall meetings to explain and promote CT2030, his revised transportation plan. According to the article, the plan still lacks legislative support because Republicans object to its tolling provisions and Democrats are shy about approving tolls without some GOP backing. Lamont told reporters yesterday that some of the state business leaders who have announced support for CT2030 will “directly call recalcitrant legislators” and urge them to pass it.
The Connecticut Mirror reports that Lamont’s “abilities as a salesman and political strategist are being tested” in the campaign to increase state transportation funding.

Radio Prague reports, “The launch of the new electronic toll system [for trucks] on Czech highways at the beginning of December can cause major traffic disruptions, the toll operator Czech Toll/Sky Toll has warned. Traffic jams of up to 40 kilometres are expected in some parts of the country, especially at border crossings, when the new toll system goes into operation.” According to the report, the expected slowdowns “are likely to be caused by slow registration of carriers. Only 196,000 vehicles have registered in the system so far, which is around 43 percent of the overall figure.”
