Pennsylvania Lawmakers Propose a Tax Credit to Offset the Rising Cost of Tolls

Pennsylvania Capital-Star contributor Mark O’Keefe thinks two state lawmakers have a good plan to mitigate the rising cost of Pennsylvania Turnpike and bridge tolls. They introduced companion bills in the House and Senate to offer an annual state income tax credit (capped at $500) equal to 50 percent of tolls paid by individuals and businesses with E-ZPass accounts. O’Keefe chides Republicans, who control both houses of the legislature, for so far showing little interest in the bills.
