HNTB Expands St. Louis Office To Keep Pace With Regional Business Growth

Last week, HNTB Corporation celebrated the expansion of its St. Louis office with a May 19 ribbon-cutting event that Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe and St. Louis Mayor Cara Spencer attended.

The infrastructure firm has maintained a St. Louis branch since 1998. Several years of continued business growth required the enlargement of HNTB’s One Metropolitan Square office footprint to 6,800 square feet. “The expansion aligns with HNTB’s broader growth across the Central States,” the company stated.

Trooper Wounded In Exchange Of Gunfire With Indiana Toll Road Driver

Early this morning, May 26, an Indiana state trooper was shot in the chest during an Indiana Toll Road traffic stop near Hammond, Lake County. The officer, who was initially treated locally then transported to a Chicago hospital for surgery, is listed in stable condition.

According to law enforcement reports, the trooper stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation then requested assistance, saying he was holding two people at gunpoint. As local police arrived on the scene, the car’s 34-year-old driver pulled a gun and started firing at the officers. He was killed when they returned fire.

The local officers, the trooper’s K-9 partner, and the driver’s passenger were not injured in the gunfire exchange. The incident remains under investigation.
