MDTA Announces Brief Delay in Start of Bay Bridge Deck Replacement Project

Capital Gazette reports, the Maryland Transportation Authority announced that the start of the $27 million Chesapeake Bay Bridge deck replacement project has been postponed until September 24. According to an MDTA statement, “The contractor [Wagman Heavy Civil] decided they did not need to take advantage of the 96-hour weekday lane closures in September.”

MetroPacific Proposes $578.43 Million Cavitex Extension Project

Philippine Daily Inquirer reports, “Infrastructure giant Metro Pacific Investments Corp. wants to connect the Sangley airport to its Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) project via a new P30-billion [approximately US$578.43 million] toll road south of Metro Manila. Roberto Bontia, president of Metro Pacific unit Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. (CIC), told reporters that they were in talks with the Philippine Reclamation Authority to extend the Cavitex, a 14-kilometer [8.7-mile] toll road. . . .”
