RCTC Is Searching For A Qualified Toll Systems Engineer

The Riverside County (California) Transportation Commission has an opening for a full-time toll systems engineer. The position’s responsibilities include planning, directing and overseeing the design, configuration, operations, and maintenance of toll information systems and infrastructure; overseeing systems and infrastructure performance; serving as a project manager for toll information technology projects; and monitoring data trends and conducting system assessments to ensure system performance, security and integrity. The application deadline is October 15.

Five Midwest States Form Electric Vehicle Initiative

Route 50 reports, the governors of five midwestern states — Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin —  have agreed to cooperate on developing electric vehicle infrastructure in their region, with an emphasis on infrastructure that supports medium and heavy-duty vehicles. Their initiative, called the Regional Electric Vehicle Midwest Coalition (REV Midwest), aims to expand the electric vehicle charging network along key commercial corridors, facilitate fleet electrification and “grow the region’s share of electric vehicle production.”
