High-Speed Chase Ends In Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel Crash

WMAR reports, on Tuesday, a driver led police officers on a high-speed chase across parts of Maryland and Virginia, at one point passing through the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel toll plaza at 90 miles per hour. Several attempts to stop the man failed before he struck a bridge curb, lost control of the car and crashed. The driver, who was reportedly wanted by Maryland authorities, and a passenger — neither of whom were wearing seatbelts — had major injuries and required aerial evacuation to a hospital. Both will face criminal charges in Maryland and Virginia.
