Billion-Dollar Round Of Safe Streets For All Grants Opens

On March 27, USDOT announced that nearly a billion dollars of FY 2026 Safe Streets for All Grant Program (SS4A) funding is now available. Eligible applicants include municipal and county governments; metropolitan planning organizations; state or territory political subdivisions; multi-jurisdictional public entities; Native American tribal governments; school districts; and state affiliated higher education institutions.

The SS4A program helps eligible recipients improve roadway safety by investing in strategies that reduce serious injuries and fatalities. Planning and Demonstration Grants support the development, completion, or enhancement of a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. Implementation Grants fund projects or strategies aligned with an existing action plan.

The notice of funding opportunity is accessible online. The application submission deadline is May 26, 2026.
