HCTRA's Annual Tomball Tollway Revenue Jumped 56 Percent Over Five Years
Community Impact Newspaper reports, according to Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) data reports, annual toll revenue from the authority’s segments of the Tomball Tollway (SH 249) increased by 56 percent between 2019 and 2023. In FY 2018-19, $28.3 million in tolls were collected. Revenue reached $44.2 million in FY 2022-23.
HCTRA constructed the facility in two phases between 2013 and 2019. The first phase opened in 2015, the second in 2019. The Montgomery County Toll Road Authority and TxDOT operate separate tolled segments of SH 249.
The newspaper’s article appears as Texas lawmakers debate a proposal to change the current method of allocating annual surpluses of HCTRA toll revenue.

The Illinois Tollway announced it will hold a Contracting With Government workshop in Elgin on May 13 in collaboration with other state and local agencies. The event is intended to connect small, diverse, and veteran-owned businesses with resources and training that will increase their opportunities to provide goods and services to the Tollway and the other agencies.
Attendees will learn about agency buying plans and attend workshops designed intended to help businesses better understand how to navigate the procurement process and certification requirements required to bid on goods and services contracts, including those for information technology.
The five-hour event will take place at the Edward Schock Centre in Elgin. On-site registration and check-in will begin at 9:00 AM. Advance registration, and agenda and resources information are available at https://agency.illinoistollway.com/contractingwithgovernment.
