Michigan County Bridge Restoration Starts Next Week
The Detroit News reports, Wayne County, Michigan, announced Friday that it received the last of the permits required to repair the Grosse Ile Parkway Bridge, which officials closed in May 2020 when deterioration became a safety issue. Work will begin on June 14; completion is expected by late fall. In the meantime, the privately owned Grosse Ile Toll Bridge will continue to be the only vehicle route on and off the Detroit River island.
