Motorists Can Expect A Scudder Falls Bridge Traffic Backup Friday

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) has issued another Scudder Falls (I-295) Toll Bridge “severe traffic warning” for this Friday morning, June 4. Motorists using I-295 eastbound to cross the bridge during the morning peak period can expect heavy congestion resulting from the closure of all but one lane to allow workers (weather permitting) to pour concrete onto the deck of the adjoining span that is under construction.

The Intelligencer reports that preparation for the pour required a similar lane reduction last week during which “miles-long traffic backups” occurred.

Nigeria Touts Response To Its Highway Concessions RFP

The Nation reports, Nigerian officials say a “robust procurement process” is attracting private partners capable of redeveloping, managing and tolling a number of major highways. They announced yesterday that 75 companies have already “submitted bids” to operate 12 highways under the first phase of the federal government’s Highway Development Management Initiative (HDMI). The procurement process is in a request for qualifications stage, following which the government will compile a shortlist of vendors from whom it will accept concession proposals.
