Pennsylvania Legislation On ETC Policies And Procedures Advances

WPXI reports, a Pennsylvania Senate committee yesterday approved and sent to the floor an amended version of a bill revising toll billing and payment enforcement procedures, requiring an annual turnpike commission report on uncollected revenue and authorizing a feasibility study into “alternative electronic toll collection payment options.” HB 2139 received the unanimous approval of the legislature’s lower house last month. The measure arose out of a controversy over the flat fee (” V-toll”) Pennsylvania imposes on an E-ZPass account identified through license plate cross-checking following a transponder-read failure.
