PA Work Zone Speed Enforcement Program Nabs Numerous Violators

York Daily Record reports, since early March, nearly 30,000 warning and violation notices have been issued to the owners of vehicles caught exceeding the speed limit in PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike active work zones. The two agencies are using license plate images captured by vehicle-mounted electronic cameras stationed around the state to catch the speeders. Their joint Automated Work Zone Speed Enforcement program aims to to change driver behavior and protect highway workers.
