Texas Tollway Extension's First Phase Will Open Months Ahead Of Schedule
The first two-mile segment of a Westpark Tollway extension is scheduled to open by midday tomorrow, February 28, weather permitting. This phase of the four-mile Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority project gives residents of Fulshear new access to the toll road from FM 1463. The expanded facility is expected to reduce congestion and improve mobility in a part of metro Houston experiencing rapid population and economic growth.
“This opening is well ahead of the contractual completion date of November 3, 2026,” commented Commissioner Vincent Morales. “Many thanks to the contractor, Harper Brothers, and their subcontractors, who have worked cooperatively to expedite this portion of the project for the benefit of Fort Bend County residents.”
The full $72 million, four-mile extension is expected to open in August. Construction began in August 2025.
