Parking Technology System Improves Safety For Indiana Toll Road Truckers
The Indiana Toll Road Concession Company (ITRCC) announced it has deployed technology to make it easier for truck drivers to find safe parking spots. A system of cameras and sensors keeps track of the number and location of available parking spaces along the toll road and displays the information on dynamic signs and in a third-party’s apps. “The information will assist in reducing congestion at our parking facilities while also empowering drivers to make quality choices about when, and where, they choose to rest,” said Rick Fedder, ITRCC’s COO, in a news release. The new system’s prime contractor was eX² Technology, the company that installed the toll road’s fiber optic communications system.
