Mass Transit Agencies Will Recover Slowly from COVID-19. Congestion Pricing Could Help Them.

An Axios report on the COVID-19 epidemic’s dire consequences for US transit systems predicts “mass transit won’t bounce back from the pandemic nearly as fast as other modes of transportation.” “There’s never been a time in which transit in one fell swoop has taken such a hit,”  former NYC traffic commissioner Sam Schwartz tells the publication. Schwartz adds that congestion pricing programs could help the agencies fill their looming budget deficits.
