Oregon Public Radio Explores State DOT Funding Dilemma And Potential Legislative Solutions

Oregon lawmakers are in the midst of a periodic assessment of state transportation needs and resources, a process that is likely to be a dominant part of the 2025 legislative session. During Oregon Public Broadcasting’s July 12 “OPB Politics Now” broadcast, three veteran political reporters discussed Oregon DOT’s chronic funding shortage, which is the major issue the legislature confronts as it attempts to work out the next multiyear transportation spending package. A major tax hike, says one reporter, is unlikely to get approval, which means a reassessment of the ways and means by which the state finances transportation is up for discussion.

CTRMA's Website Gets A New Look, And Public Radio Produces "Field Guide" To Austin Transportation

Metro Austin motorists have two new information resources at their fingertips. The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) recently gave its website a fresh look. The information is much the same, but organization, presentation, and aesthetics came in for change.

Yesterday, KUT, an Austin public radio outlet, published a transportation primer as part of its “Field Guide to Austin.” The encyclopedic feature covers all forms of mobility and includes insights into highway development and tolling. Each of the metro area’s major highways is mapped and described.
