On Monday, July 21, USDOT published a request for information seeking “ideas, comments, and information” for consideration during the process of developing the next surface transportation programs reauthorization bill. It’s requested that responses be received no later than August 20, 2025, although information received after that date will be considered “to the extent practicable.”
The department is soliciting a broad range of input from stakeholders across all transportation sectors, especially “entities significantly affected by administrative actions of DOT including: State, local, and tribal governments; small businesses; consumers; non-governmental organizations; transportation system operators and service providers; and manufacturers and their trade associations.” While all relevant comments will be accepted, USDOT is specifically interested in receiving feedback on a list of department policy themes listed in the notice.
