AET Expanding Across New York State

Times-Union (Albany) reports, “Massachusetts launched cashless tolls [on October 28] and New York is poised to do the same at sites downstate.” The report adds, “The state plans to extend cashless tolling to six other bridges and two tunnels operated by the MTA. Before the year is out, toll booths will cease to operate at the Queens Midtown Tunnel and the Hugh L. Carey Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. Next year, the Whitestone Bridge, Throgs Neck Bridge, RFK Triborough Bridge, Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge, and Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge will all get rid of toll booths.”
