Sirit getting into cattle tags
Sirit dominant supplier of electronic toll equipment to California and a partner with 3M in producing sticker tags announces it's teaming with eriginate corp to produce a UHF cattle ear tag to work with Sirit's IDentity 5100 reader. Sirit says its system allows a read of each cow in a herd, and just the one read of each, from many angles and at ranges between 0.6m and 15m (2ft to 50ft).![]()
Sirit's rival in sticker tag technology TransCore got into business in the mid-1980s as Amtech, a company which was first formed precisely to do RFID animal tagging. The name Amtech has its origins in AniMal TECHnologies or somesuch. As it turned out they decided to focus on electronic tags or transponders for railroad freight vehicles and road vehicles.
