McCain chooses Bridge to Nowhere killer for VP

John McCain has chosen as his VP Sarah Palin, killer of the infamous Bridge to Nowhere project in Alaska. Palin, 44, routed the corrupt old GOP machine in the state two years ago and fits well with McCain's maverick conservatism.

As governor she has said the state of Alaska has to wean itself off federal dollars and taken a firm line against corrupt favor trading politics.

She dropped the ridiculous Gravinas Is bridge - $300m to replace a ferry to an island with 50 people.
