Tracy Marks goes to head of TransCore ITS - PERSONNEL
By Peter Samuel
Tracy Marks is the new President of TransCore ITS taking over from John Simler. That puts Marks in direct charge of tolls and traffic management projects of the company. Chairman and CEO of Roper Industries (the holding company for TransCore) Brian Jellison is quoted as saying the handover of day to day management to Tracy Marks allows John Simler to "focus on strategic growth opportunities in the broad RF segment."
That sounds like Simler becoming the company's Grand Master of Business Development.
Marks who is 41 joined the company in 1993 and most recently was senior vice president of both the Southern U.S. and International regions. (As they say in Boston: "the South is another country.")
Also Marks has been general manager of United Toll Systems, which they say is "a growing product division" within TransCore ITS.
Jellison: "Tracy's customer focus and demonstrated ability to generate new business are well suited to our growth plans for TransCore ITS. He is a proven leader who will deliver outstanding solutions for customers and enhance the long-term growth for the company."
Marks says he's excited about his new role role and looking forward to working with what he calls "the best team in the industry."
He works out TransCore's Houston office, one of the company's largest. TransCore supports Haris County Toll Road Authority network, plus Houston Metro's new managed lanes system on the area's major freeways. He has a BS in electrical engineering from University of Kentucky and is a PE.
