The Orlando Sentinel reports that interim chief executive of the Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority (OOCEA) Max Crumit has been offered the job as a permanent position. But he's said "No thanks" because he doesn't like being in the public limelight.

Board chairmanWalter Ketcham says Crumit has been doing a "fabulous job."

Crumit took over in a temporary capacity at the end of last year (2011-12-29) after longtime CEO Mike Snyder was pushed out by the board.

Crumit was well known to board and staff having worked at OOCEA before extended periods many times before - as a consultant. An engineer he was at PBS&J/Atkins for many years and then at RS&H.
