Glenn Deitiker heading BancPass (PERSONNEL)
By Peter Samuel
BancPass the transaction processing company based in Austin Texas says Glenn Deitiker is their new president and chief technology officer. He comes from Telvent where he was head of the toll division. Back in 2007 Caseta Technologies, a company he had founded in 1994 had been acquired by Telvent and for a while he operated as head of a branch of Telvent known as Telvant Caseta.
Caseta and Deitiker had gained prominence winning a contract for lane software at MTA Bridges & Tunnels in New York City in the early years of E-ZPass. MTAB&T was the largest grossing toller in the US.
The announcement today says that BancPass wants to combine the proven technologies and standards of the broader electronic payments processing with electronic tolling: "The blend of the two promotes choice, competition, and ultimately provides a more efficient, cost effective transaction processing network, paving the way to National Interoperability."
Deitiker himself is quoted: ""I am excited about the opportunity to fully dedicate my time and energy working to take Tolling into the future. With the advent of All-Electronic-Tolling, operators and consumers alike are looking for more flexible, customer friendly ways to pay for tolls.
"The BancPass system increases the range of choices to consumers by enabling payment methods that best fit usage for each individual. In turn, we provide toll operators alternatives to legacy transaction processing, and introduce the efficiencies of trusted banking and retail partners."
Deitiker, now 48 has been heavily involved in standards work - in the OmniAir consortium where he was a founding member and executive chair of electronic services committee and at IBTTA where he was a leader of a Next Generation Performance Specification Work Group.
