CBC News British Columbia reports that the provincial transportation ministry has opened an investigation to determine why its contractors were unable to prevent snow and ice “bombs” from damaging vehicles crossing both the Alex Fraser and Port Mann bridge” on December 5. Auto insurance provider ICBC has received 40 complaints of damage caused by falling ice and slush.
